1: Front-end Module Editing


Front end Module Editing allows you to edit modules directly on the page without the need to use the admin dashboard. This new feature simplifies the administration of websites by making them incredibly easy to edit.

2: Decoupling of Weblinks

Weblinks has been removed from the core and moved to the Joomla! Extensions Directory (JED) as official extensions. If you already have Weblinks installed, it won't be removed. If you want to use Weblinks in the future, you must install it from the JED.

3: Composer Integration

Composer is a popular product used in the PHP community. It supports a huge amount  libraries that you can find at Packagist.org. In other words, Composer is a package manager for PHP. Therefore, integrating external code libraries into Joomla will be easier.

4: Google New reCaptcha



As Google introduced a new API that radically simplifies the reCAPTCHA experience called "No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA", Joomla 3.4 also is applies  this change to protect your login and registration forms against spam. What users have to do is check a box.

5: Security Improvements

A well done work in Joomla 3.4 is secure file uploads improvement by implementing UploadShield code which can detect most malicious uploads by examining their file names and file contents.

6: Extension Beta Testing

A convenient feature in Joomla 3.4 is that it allows users to choose to update to stable versions or Beta versions. Extension developers also can do the same thing for their extensions by adding a tags attribute to their update server manifest and asking users to do as following:
  1. Go to Extensions > Extension Manager > Update
  2. Click on Options
  3. Under the Preferences tab set the Minimum stability to Alpha
  4. Click on Save & Close
  5. Click on Purge > Find Updates.

7: Collapsible Sidebar

Now you can make your admin panel full-width by hiding the Sidebar.

OTHER NEW FEATURES

Core en-GB standardisation: This is the official language of Joomla. This new feature is to standardize all the en-GB language strings in the core of Joomla based on the style guide.

New .htaccess file: This file file will be added to new installations only. It increases security by disallowing directory listings.

New robots.txt file: This file only is for new 3.4 installs. It allows search engines to access Joomla's media files, therefore, SEO will be improved.
