These are some things I would recommend your company focus upon:
Redesign your Joomla Modules; all of them, each with the ability to use "core joomla," "K2" and "Zoo," each module able to handle these other extensions / content systems.
Update your plugins (sj core, and YT system) to have a few options that can address some of the problems found on different host configurations.
All of the "other" template clubs seem to be focusing on "photos" because of the new "responsive" layouts, but they are stuck on that. Smartaddons should break that barrier and come up with 3 new layout schemes...
1) News templates are popular, because many bloggers and news companies use them as well. Take a look at AOL's homepage, MSNBC, New York Times and the Washington post. If you can blend the various layout options and make them available to joomla in a responsive framework, it would be priceless.
2) Education sites are blooming with Joomla, especially those able to connect with iJoomla's products properly, as well as JomSocial and Kunena. Take a look at the top ten education sites and you'll discover that even though they are seriously detailed, their user interface remains simple and clean.
3) Media sites are exploding these days, and it's important to be able to provide a clean dark/light version of your media templates, as well as multi-colored link choices for both dark and light themes, but also, it would be wise to investigate how to optimize / speed up joomla's core as well. Please see the Mac App "Web Crusher.
Your company has a lot of modules which could be merged to provide greater options for the webmaster, as well as speed up his / her site development time with SmartAddons products.
Lastly, Joomlart and several others are offering mixed bundles. Perhaps you could affiliate with JomSocial, iJoomla, AkeebaBackup and others to offer more complete and configured bundles. Your templates and modules with added functionality by these other companies.
These are just some thoughts for you to consider.
Walter.
