i am unable to remove the virtuemart product rating stars as i wish to remove that..went to virtuemart- configuration - shop and even after disabling the rating review.. the stars still show up..please advise how to remove

You can use the css to disable it. eg add the css below to disable rate in the product detail page:

.vm-product-container .vm-product-details-container .product_rating{
display:none;
}
please send us the link of page that you want to remove it.

After add the css, please clear cache in joomla admin and check it again. If it still doesn't work please send us the screenshot to clearer, and the admin and ftp account to do directly for you.
