Can you tell me how to change the background of the black top menu in the SJ University II theme for Joomla? And if I wanted to remove it altogether would that be possible as well?

/templates/sj_university2/css/template-default.css
to remove this block: you can disable all the module in the possition top1, top2

That's great, I followed your first instructions and changed it in the template and that worked. I have another question about changing which way the submenu items slides out on the main menu. Should I start a new topic? Right now it slides to the right and I would like it to slide to the left. ie. in a 2 column menu those on the left I would like to pop out to the left and those on the right to the right.
