I have the same problem. I can not install the sample content on localhost. I've tried all ways. I'm using Uniserver.

You should clear cache browser or change other browser to install. Please install quickstart package and chose "install the sample data".

I've tried with Mozilla, IE9, Chrome, Opera, Safari of course installing sample data on my local server wampp with both Joomla versions (2.5 and 3.1) and it still does not let me install the sample data. I install templates other companies such as Gavick, Rocketheme, Yootheme with the same local server and I have not any problem.
