I have SJ Extra Slider installed and it will not show in any sub categories of virtuemart or standard joomla article pages where I need it to, but it will show on the virtuemart home page .

Please create some menu items assigned to sub-categories and joomla article pages firstly.

After that, you can choose those menu items in the sj virtuemart extra slider module.
