is there a way to display the matching thumbnail image when choosing a custom field variant (i.e. color, material) of a product in the detail page?

If you want display matching thumbnail images when choosing a custom field variant, you have to custom so much the code. If you want to do for your idea, we will do that with appropriate extra cost.
