Im looking solution long time, but I dont know what Im dooing wrong.
in my theme SJ News I disable all categories - only Slide Show Im using.

Than I creat my own categories, but only original category news is showed correctly.

for test:
My own category

In my owen categories the news are showed only in "Main content block" what I have hidden in template setting.

second things what I dont know is why in URL of second address is "homesecond" if in alias for this category is "top".

So, News theme is instaled on joomla 2.5
1) after quick install is a bit broken. After Quickinstall I must install clear theme package... for correction
2) DB tabele menu is utf-sweden, it must be in utf8-uni...

OK back to my problem

If I creat owen category I see differend layout of original categories...

all modules are using original categories, only module in "ct1" block is including original news in my owen categorie...

problem is, my owen categories are show in Hiden Main content block... (option in tempalate).

You need to create the menuitem for category(or parent's category) contains articles
