I can display icons in the horiz megamenue but it will be very nice if there are a possibility to do not display the title like in a normal joomla menu.

You can find:
ul.navi div.level1.separator, ul.navi a.level1{
....
}

and add more attribute like this:
ul.navi div.level1.separator, ul.navi a.level1{
....
text-indent: -9999px;
width: ??px;
}
you must be set style width because div or a has width=0 when text-indent set (-9999).
