I don't really understand the difference using zoo, vm, yt, sj, k2 when deciding to make a choice for a module or extension.

Example: if I use zoo, do i need to find a template/framework not offered on smartaddons

I understand what their websites tell me about why choose them versus others.

are these not interchangable?

any glossary or terms for me to read about these differences if there are not compatible to place nice with each other. I seem to waste time trying to figuring it out on my own.

Each extension (zoo, vm, yt, sj, k2) has specific features.

You can use them basing on your purpose.

Example: k2 using to show content, vm using to pay, zoo using to blog,....

You can install an extensions on any templates/frameworks.
