The vm categories module version joomla17 and joomla25 is not supported to sort the vm categories now.

Therefore, you can not see the added code in the xml file.

is it possible to modify the sorting in the sourcecode, so that it has the same sorting like the vm categories (my sorting is by title ascendent, but the sj-category module sorts the title descendent)?

You can open the vmcategoriesreader.php file in "your_site/modules/mod_sj_vm_categories/core", finding:

ORDER BY c.ordering

change to

ORDER BY vmlang.category_name ASC
