How to create a database and a username for WordPress

In this article, we will introduce step by step to create a new database and username for WordPress site by phpMyAdmin. If you're using a hosting provider, you should refer the guide how to create a new database and username by control panel

Note: These instructions are written for phpMyAdmin 3.3.9; the phpMyAdmin user interface can vary slightly between versions.

Step 1: Open your phpMyAdmin by typing this URL on your browser: http://localhost/phpmyadmin/, then enter the new name for your database as following:

Step 2: Go to Privileges and add the new username if you want. When using localhost, you can use the localhost username and let slip the step 2 - 3 - 4 and jump to Step 5

Step 3: Insert the Login Information and complete to add new username

Step 4: You can see the introduction as after

Step 5: Come back to Privileges tab and edit

Step 6: Add privileges on new database
