SJ Categories II for SobiPro

This guide will help you install SJ Categories II for SobiPro step by step.

When you buy the module the first time, you will have the latest version. After the first release, we will update this module regularly, please check newer versions when informed here

At the basic level, this module will require the following conditions:

  • Compatible with version Joomla: Joomla! 2.5.x and Joomla! 3.x
  • Compatible with SobiPro 1.1.x. Download here

Prepare your module package

  • Firstly, you need to UNZIP file that you have downloaded. Please note that you should choose modules package that are suitable with each Joomla version which you have just downloaded
  • Secondly, install main module (extracted mod_ file):
  • In your Administrator page, go to Extensions -> Extension Manager. In this page, click Choose File, select module package.
  • Then click Upload & Install

  • Please wait for module being installed, usually within several seconds.
  • Now go to Extensions -> Module Manager, click Select Type box and choose the module you have installed
  • Prepare to perform Module Configuration

After installing, go to Extensions -> Module Manager and find SJ Categories II for SobiPro to configure

SJ Categories II for SobiPro module is configured in 5 groups of parameters as following:

  • Basic Options
  • Source Options
  • Category Options
  • Image Options
  • Advanced Options

Let’s look at the parameters in detail:

Basic Options

  • Module Width – Allow to set module width
  • Open Link – Set target for links:
    • New Window
    • Same Window
    • Popup Window
  • Theme – We support 4 themes:
    • Theme 1
    • Theme 2
    • Theme 3
    • Theme 4

Source Options

  • Select Section – Allow to select section
  • Select Category – Allow to select category

Category Options
Category Options

  • Title Max Chars – Allow you to set max characters of category title. Set “0” for unlimit length

Sub Category Options

  • Title Max Chars – Allow you to set max characters of sub-category title. Set “0” for unlimit length

For Theme1

  • Max Items Level 2 – Allow you to set max item level 2.

For Theme3

  • Description Maxlength – Allow you to set max length of description by characters. Set “0” value if you want to show all.

For Theme1 & Theme4

  • # Column – Allow you to set the number column to display on each rows.
  • Max Columns in Tooltip – Allow you to set the number of article in each category selected.
  • More/Hide Button Text – Allow you to enable/disable More button

Image Options

  • From icon – Allow you to get image from icon OR not
  • From Description – Allow you to get images from description OR not
  • From External – Allow you to get image from external OR not
  • External Path – Show external path
  • Order to Get – Set order: icon, description, external
  • Extend Folder – Set path to external image folder used by option above
  • Resize Mode – Allow you to choose the mode of image resizing
    • None
    • Center
    • Fill
    • Fit
    • Strech
  • Output Format – Allow to set format for all output file:
    • Default – if you want to keep original format
    • GIF
    • JPEG
    • PNG
  • Keep Transparency – Allow to keep images transparent, for PNG and GIF format
  • Width/Height – Allow you to set the width/height of the big image
  • Background – Allow to set the color of image background. This is applied for showing images without full background. If the image with full background, you can see nothing to change
  • Placeholder Path or Url – Allow to set path to placeholder image
Advanced Options 

  • Module Class Suffix – Allow you to choose another CSS class that suits your template
  • Alternative Layout – Set custom layout for this module
  • Include Jquery – Allow you to include Jquery OR NOT
  • Pre-text – The content to show at the top of module
  • Post-text – The content to show at the end of module
  • Caching
    • Use Global: Turn on caching
    • No Caching: Turn off caching
  • Cache Times – The time to cache
  • Module Tag – Allow to select the HTML Tag for module
  • Bootstrap Size – Allow to set the number of columns that module will use.
  • Header Tag – Allow to select the HTML Tag for module header/title
  • Header Class – Support the CSS Class for module header/title
  • Module Style – Select module style
