On Tuesday, April 21, Google has made a major update to its mobile search algorithm (called Mobilegeddon) that will shake up the search results on mobile and crush millions of sites which has a bad look on mobile phone.

If your site is not optimized for mobile devices, the visitors to your website will drop down significantly today. So how to know your site is mobile-friendly or not? If NOT, what should you do?

As announced before, Google's mobile ranking algorithm will officially include mobile friendly factors, and making sure that your site is mobile-friendly is now more important than ever. Website not optimized mobile-friendly will be dropped down the search rankings, dramatically reducing the number of visitors. Even big organizations like Microsoft and the European Union are also likely to be negatively affected by these changes. 60% of online traffic now comes from mobile and Google wants users to have a good experience whenever they click on a mobile link.

But note that Mobilegeddon will affect only search rankings on mobile devices in the worldwide, not in tablets and apply to individual pages, not entire website. Google did say this mobile ranking update can take up to a week, so you might not see the mobile search results change much that day but you will in the near future.
